Editors Note: The Adjustable parallax version of the Mamba adjusts down to 10 yards – perfect for air gunners…
Renowned scopemaker, MTC Optics has chosen to throw its new lightweight Mamba Ultralite into the ring in Las Vegas, where SHOT Show delegates from around the globe will see first-hand why this exciting new contender punches well above its price tag.
As its name suggests, the new-for-2019 riflescope line offers sporting shooters the option to keep their combos light and manageable, and it does so without sacrificing any of the practical features that the MTC brand has become synonymous with.
Aided by its 25mm (one inch) body tube construction, the inaugural 3-10×40 Ultralite model weighs in at just 538 grams (1lb 3oz), yet still boasts light transmission figures on a par with bigger, heavier 30mm tube scopes in the same price bracket by virtue of the superior multicoating treatment MTC has given to the Ultralite’s lenses.
Other shooter-friendly specifications in the design of this scope include a mil-dot reticle (true at 10x), semi-target turrets (1/4MOA), magnetic flip-up lens covers – complete with magnifier – and speed focus. It also comes with a five-year warranty.
Two versions of the 3-10×40 Ultralite are being launched at SHOT: a fixed-parallax offering either a 30/30 Duplex or Mil-Dot reticle (£209.99), and a variable parallax model offering MTC’s unique SCB2 crosshair (£219.99). Availability is immediate, with some geographical variations to their roll-out.
