Taking centre stage in this, Daystate’s 40th year, the new Genus PCP is a commemorative special edition that pays homage to the iconic airgunmaker’s inaugural rifle, the Huntsman. Until now, only computer-generated images of the Genus have been released; Daystate has chosen this year’s IWA Outdoor Classics Trade Fair in Nuremberg, Germany to reveal the finished article to the eagerly-waiting airgun world.
With just 200 of the most special of all Daystate’s special editions being made available globally, the Genus incorporates all the technology and features that Daystate’s classic PCP sporter has evolved during its journey from ‘Mk1’ to the present-day HR Huntsman Regal. However, the Genus boasts an extra level of detail that reflects its significance to Daystate’s rich airgun heritage.
The Genus is presented in laminate woodwork with contrasting grip and forend caps, complemented by metalwork finished in gold. Further embellishments include a 0dB Silencer, stylish bolt, commemorative plaques on the breech and stock, with the individually numbered rifles coming with a matching Certificate of Authenticity, a special edition hard cover book and presentation case. The Genus is available to order in .177, .20, .22 or .25 calibre, at power levels from 12 to 40ft/lbs.
