In its only match of the day on Sunday at the World Shooting Para Sport Championships in Sydney, Australia,, Team USA picked up another quota slot for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, marking the team’s third quota slot earned over the first two days of the event.
McKenna Dahl (Arlington, Wash.) led the U.S. in the mixed standing air rifle SH2 competition with a score of 624.2 to earn the quota spot. She placed 25th in qualification. Jazmin Almlie (Houston, Texas) was 29th with a total of 623.2.
Ukraine’s Vitali Plakushchyi won the gold medal ahead of Italy’s Andrea Liverani and Slovenia’s Francek Gorazd Tirsek.
Monday will be another light day of competition for Team USA with just one athlete, Taylor Farmer (Castalia, Ohio) in action in the women’s 3 position 50m rifle SH1 event.
